Mouflon OS

Postby demas » Tue Oct 11, 2016 6:08 am

Hey guys, so what's up? I was thinking maybe we need to create our own OS from scratch, based on Ubuntu. So what do you think about it? @charizan @theo @medigeek and every body else who is interested on my project please feel free to contact me.

Interesting idea. We could start the discussion on what we would like to improve on Ubuntu. What's missing that would give value to Cypriot users?

Also I think re-mastering Ubuntu is more realistic than building something from scratch. The logistics and resources you need for that is something like this:

Even if we try to simplify some bits it would still be a big overhead for such a small community.

It must be a way to sort this out @theo. What I meant was just like mint or knoppix or any other OS it has the ubuntu interface as an object oriented on it, do you understand me now @theo. Anyway where are the other guys?

But of course dear what is missing from ubuntu project is our logo with a mouflon head on it, and our background wallpapers and of course forcing Mr. Mark Shuttleworth rename a project by us. Instance here we are able and such as idiots by not protecting our species of mouflons but instead we are such as idiots of hunting them down and killing them too. I mean what the fuck is going on in this country.

Knoppix is a debian derivative. It mostly uses Debian repositories and they have prepared some customized packages of their own:

It is developed by one (!) very skilled and dedicated developer.

Most of the discussions happen on Loomio these days:

You can open a new discussion over there, although I would prefer to have technical discussions on the forum.

You can prepare one with a souvla background but how does this gives value to the project? For a project to be successful you need goals, a target audience, dedicated people to work on it... And in the end it will need to give some value to its users, otherwise nobody will use it.

We are free to create an Ubuntu derivative if that's want we want. We do not need anyone's approval for that.

I lost hope some years ago mate. That's why I gave up on promoting FOSS for the public sector because they really don't care about anything we have to say. I prefer to focus on events like this (feel free to join if you like) where the focus is on the people that are interested in learning something new, instead of trying to fix something that broke decades ago:
